Josie is almost 6 weeks old- which means I'm almost 6 weeks post c-section. That means I can finally lift Ellie again.
It feels good!
It has been a long 6 weeks.... trying to care for your daughter when you can't lift her up, you can't put her into her crib, or get her out, you can't help her into her high chair, you can't put her into her carseat, you can't even lift her onto your lap to read some books to her is pretty much impossible. Don't get me wrong, I'm incredibly grateful for all of the HELP I have received. We have had lots of help from family and I am SO grateful for that! Noah has been absolutely amazing as Ellie's "primary caretaker!" But it just feels good to feel like her mom again!
As I put her to bed tonight- lifting her onto the chair to cuddle and read books with me and lifting her into her crib, I've never been more grateful. It feels good.
And to think that just 3 months ago, Ellie had yet to take her first steps and I was carrying her ALL of the time (while being nearly 8 months pregnant!) We have come a long ways, and it feels good!
