About Us

Born and raised in Wisconsin, we met each other and The Navigators as students at UW-Eau Claire.
Participation in The Navigators ministry at UWEC was foundational and transformational for both of us. Our parents and churches laid foundations for us and we arrived at UWEC ready to embrace our faith in Jesus Christ for ourselves. In The Navigators, we found caring staff and older students who modeled a passionate pursuit of Jesus Christ, a deep knowledge of the Scriptures, a commitment to loving God and people, and to the Great Commission. We also found the opportunity to begin passing on the things we were learning to others. This combination left us forever changed.
In 2006 I graduated with a degree in sociology and joined Navigator Staff via the EDGE Corps internship, my first assignment being....at UW-Whitewater! I learned much that year as Katie and I dated long distance (she continued school at UWEC and I ministered to students at UWW). My tenure at UWW was short due to Katie's presence in my life. At the end of my first year of EDGE, I moved back to UWEC where Katie and I married and ministered as she finished up her degree. During this time in Eau Claire we determined that we both wanted to work full-time with The Navigators.
Katie graduated with a degree in elementary education in 2008 and we moved to the University of Illinois in 2009 for our staff training. We thoroughly enjoyed our four years in Urbana-Champaign and the experiences afforded by being at a Big Ten campus. The atmosphere and diversity made it an excellent training ground for us. While living in Illinois our family doubled in size. Ellie was born in April of 2011 and Josie joined our family in November of 2012. 2013 brought yet another transition for us, as we moved back to Wisconsin to direct the campus ministry at UW-Whitewater. We are enjoying the privilege of seeing the Lord at work in Whitewater as we reach the ten-year mark of serving with The Navigators. We enjoy any time spent with our girls, taking walks, playing board games, and watching the Badgers and the Packers.
More than ever, we see the need for college students to know and follow Jesus Christ. When they do during this unique and formational season of life, our dark world had better watch it's back. Armed with the gospel of Jesus Christ, our graduates are moving next door to everywhere, sharing the love of Christ and making disciples wherever the Lord leads them.
