2nd Annual Reading Day Eve

Posted 5/10/10.  We have started a tradition here at U of I. Below is the promo video for last year's event. And we are proud to tell you the traditions have continued :) The students have a pre-finals study day called Reading Day here ... and in honor of this day we have a Reading Day Eve party. Complete with a text book exchange to prepare you to READ on READING DAY and a Reading of "Twas the Night before Reading Day" by Norm. It all sounds cheesy (and it is) but it is a lot of fun and a great way to end the year!

Christmas Party

Posted 1/18/09.  Over 70 (!) students gathered for a Christmas Party during the last week of class as a final gathering before our students headed home for winter break.  Many of our students brought non-Nav friends, which was encouraging, and we all had a great time.  Ugly Christmas sweaters were encouraged!

Reading Day Eve Social

Posted 6/3/09.  We hosted an end-of-the-year social at our house the night before Reading Day, complete with a white-elephant book exchange and a reading of Twas the Night Before Reading Day.  Reading Day is the study day before finals start.  Check out the video below for an explanation of Reading Day Eve.  We had a blast and will miss these students this summer!
