Tonight Noah and I both had our last bible studies of the semester. Definitely very bittersweet. I am so thankful for these girls and the connections the Lord has given me... I could go on and on.... but instead I'll just show you a picture of the delicious dessert I made!!!
ps. Notice my t-shirt? Oh yeah! Read the post below :) Noah's sister and parents were here this weekend. When we found out the marathon was the same weekend as their visit we thought Noah and his sister Chelsea should run the 5K together. They signed up and made an effort to run (at least a FEW times in preparation!) :)
Noah's goal was to beat his worst cross country time from high school. Since Noah never times himself while he runs and seems more about the experience of the run than the time... I thought this may be too lofty of a goal. Long story short... Noah's family got stuck in Madison because of a terrible storm... and Friday night I decided I might as well go for the 5K in Chelsea's place since we had already paid/registered/etc (and let's be honest... I've always wanted a t-shirt from a 5K!) :) Keep in mind.... although I ran cross country in high school, I am NOT a runner! (For example, I got last place at a race once!) Running is not my thing... and I try to avoid it as much as possible. With less than 10 hours warning (and ONE 2.5 mile run/walk in the last 9 months as my training) I JOGGED the 5K. And, I hate to admit this... but I actually enjoyed it! All the people (3,000+) were a great distraction from what I was actually doing. Could this be the beginning of a new hobby? Uh oh! And for those who are wondering.... Noah was awesome. He made his goal... and was the 111th male to finish in the 5K! |
