Last week, we hosted students in our home for a Christmas Party! ~Thirty students joined us for a lively evening of food, games, and conversation. There were Christmas sweaters, white elephant gifts, the Christmas Story, and lots of laughs. The time was a great blessing to us, for three reasons in particular:
Most students have headed home. The next month will bring holiday travels, continued recovery for Katie, and lots of planning and preparation for the spring semester, which will be upon us quickly. Please pray for wisdom for us as we continue to advance the gospel and cultivate a disciplemaking community here at UWW. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for standing with us! -Noah |

Hey friends!
Thanks for your continued prayers. The chart above gives a good picture of our life over the last six weeks since Katie's diagnosis. People ask how we are doing, and honestly it's hard to say because it depends on where we're at in the cycle. When we're between twelve and six o'clock on the cycle, life is quite frustrating. Yet God's sustaining grace is present through it all, and thus, we are ok. The unexpected of last week: Katie's extreme fatigue/dizzyness and tested for vertigo (negative!), Josie's teething and bumps all over her torso and checked for chicken pox (also negative!), me driving a quick trip to Minnesota for my grandma's funeral (worth the trip!), and probably a couple other things I'm thinking about...all in the context of Katie's recovery. Crazy! This shows God's amazing grace: multiple times we sat back this week and just laughed. When asked how I was doing last week, I replied: "In some ways terrible. But in some ways very good, because the Lord is with us. Who knows what's coming next, but I think we'll be fine since He's with us." HA! No surprises yet this week. Katie starts on Rebif, a three times per week injection. Please pray that the side effects (mainly flu-like symptoms) would be minor. On the campus front... God's giving me reasons to be encouraged. Students are strongly considering the life-changing options for summer 2014 of overseas trips or summer training programs. A weekly investigative study in the book of John with a young freshman is bearing fruit. And this Wednesday, we're hosting the ministry for a Christmas Party at our house. Yikes! It looks to be an encouraging, though stretching experience. Thanks for praying! -Noah |
