Baby #2

It's hard to believe I'm almost half-way through this second pregnancy. I'm not sure if it's having another child, spending a month at Spring Hill or being in the midst of a busy summer, but this pregnancy sure has flown!

I've been feeling very good overall (especially now that I'm in the second trimester- yippee!)

The main point of this post is to share that we find out THIS WEEK if we are having a boy or a girl. Our appointment is on Thursday! I've been thinking girl, Noah has been thinking boy. I'm wrong almost all of the time, so I guess it probably is a boy, but I'm still sticking to girl, and so is Ellie :) We have two little babies for her doll house (one boy and one girl) so we put them out today and had her pick one. She's picked girl every time, and she did so again today! I got a video, but I'll need Noah's help to post it :)

I thought I'd post a few pictures of the wedding this weekend. We took a mini family vacation/trip to St. Louis/Alton. Wednesday-Friday we stayed in downtown St. Louis and went out to eat, to the hotel pool, the zoo, and had a picnic at the arch. We had a LOT of fun. I'll have to post more later. All I can say, is vacation with kids are just so much different :)

Friday-Sunday we were in Alton for Meg & Carl's wedding. Meg is a former student and I was VERY honored to stand up in her wedding :)  It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding. Meg had crafted so many decorations and it just looked awesome! She even made bracelets and hair pieces for each of the bridesmaids. It was an adorable wedding that was TOTALLY Meg's style :)

Just had to share a picture of the banner she made to hang up... 64 yards long and totally transformed the room :)

Here I am at almost 19 weeks :)

And here is beautiful Meg! I loved her something old (necklace from her grandma when she was 7) something new (dress) something borrowed (veil) and something blue (blue shoes!) Too cute :)

Can you tell someone is VERY tired? :) Ellie did a great job, but it was a busy weekend! Oh and notice how I have to hold this girl- above the baby bump :) She's getting too big to be carried all the time! :)

Had to show off the hairclip! And the hair (Meg's friend Kristin did it for me!) Thanks to curly hair, it took like 10 minutes :)

BIG WEEK- we will keep you posted :)

We love you baby #2. We are SO excited to meet you, and can't believe we're almost halfway there!!

Keep growing healthy and strong! I'm enjoying your little kicks :)

37 Weeks and counting!

As of last Saturday, I'm at 37 weeks! The hospital bag is packed, the car seat is ready to go, all we need is the baby :) We're very excited as we anticipate the arrival of our little girl!!
I'm still feeling pretty good and sleeping quite well. She's running out of room so it's starting to get uncomfortable, but overall we are doing great.
A friend told me yesterday, "Prepare for her to come early, expect for her to come late, and hope she'll come on time." I guess that describes well our life right now :)

I'm so grateful to my dear friends Angie, Erin and Jen  who hosted a shower for us here in Champaign. It was a very special time to celebrate with our TCBC church family and a great reminder of how the Lord has been so faithful to provide us with friends here in Illinois. I never thought we would feel as "at home" here in Champaign as we do. Here are a few pictures :)

1) The beautiful decorations
2) Decorating cupcakes (how fun!)
3) The adorable cupcakes:)
4) A handmade dress for our dear daughter. It's a treasure! (Note: Rachel's face!:)

Baby Update

Noah realized this morning that as of this coming Saturday I will be at 30 weeks. That may have made him a tiny bit nervous, but overall we are very excited!! We had a doctor appointment last week and will now start to have appointments every two weeks (instead of every four.) I passed my glucose test in case you were wondering, YEAH!

Noah is actually taking a baby class Wednesday night (our first!). It is "For Dads Only." He will get some practice caring for a little one (using a doll!) We've heard it's the baby class with the best snacks?! ha! Makes sense  since it will be all guys. Hope he has a good time and learns a lot!

We got a crib and a changing table and so now our baby room looks like a baby room!!! I'm working on some crafty things to put on the walls so the walls aren't decorated yet, but thought I'd show you some pictures of the room as is :)

I'm so thankful to be feeling good! I'm noticing that I am a bit more tired than I have been the past few weeks, and my appetite is finally picking up. I have some significant back pain, but other than that I'm feeling great. I'm sleeping very well (I wake up a lot to go to the bathroom but thankfully can fall asleep very quickly!!) I told someone the other day that I think getting up in the middle of the night interrupts Noah's sleep more than it does mine. :/

pregnancy

I have been hesitant to post anything to the online world about pregnancy, but I figured it is about time. :)

Thanks to all of you who have asked how I am doing and how I am feeling. To answer your question- I am doing well! The month of September was rough... but thankfully we are past that.

I am still wearing all of my normal clothes (super thankful for that!) although I know it won't last much longer. My mom was kind enough to buy me some very nice maternity clothes as an early birthday gift so I have the start of a new wardrobe.

My nose and throat have been the most bothersome throughout pregnancy. I have a very strong gag reflex and brushing my teeth is not a pleasant experience. My sense of smell is very acute and I find it kind of funny but two things just had to go-- the Caramel Apple soap I bought from Bath and Body Works and my own perfume--- the scent of each of them was making me sick! Kind of weird what happens when you are pregnant I guess.

Other than that I am doing well. In case you are wondering, YES we are going to find out if it is a boy or a girl.

Oh, and I think I *might* have felt the first kick this week. It was subtle, but pretty awesome. :)
