After countless hours of planning for this weekend, it was incredible to actually BE THERE!
Nearly 400 students and staff from 10 different campuses throughout WI, MN, ND and SD gathered for a weekend in Iowa. This is a beautiful place to enjoy and appreciate God's creation, especially this time of year with the fall colors! We're thankful for the great weather all weekend!
We were blessed by 3 challenging messages from Norman Hubbard (and his wife Katie joined him for one of these.) It was encouraging to be reminded of the relevancy of the scriptures in our daily lives. So often we hear so much about new books or programs or seminars about Christianity, and it was important to be reminded that nothing can replace a desire for and dependence on the Word of God!
One of the highlight's of Katie's weekend was a "Freedom from Performance" seminar. How easy it is for us to get caught up in doing good things that we forget why we do what we do and the heart behind it all.
I enjoyed seeing all the work come together and the way God used this weekend to really grow people. I also was encouraged to see students "catch" the vision of the Navigators to know Christ and make Him known on the campus, in the workplace and throughout the world!
We had a Nav Staff from Russia join us for the weekend. The students and staff at the weekender raised over $6,000 to support this staff and the work they are doing in Russia, (including Omsk, where we lived and ministered last summer.)
Be praying for lasting fruit in the lives of everyone who attended!
