In Bible Study last night, one girl mentioned how excited she was to celebrate Easter for the first time. At first I was confused, thinking- how have you never celebrated Easter before? But then I got it...although she has always been aware of the holiday, this is her first Easter as a follower of Christ. This makes all the difference!
Tonight I invited any of the girls in my study who were interested to come over and watch The Passion of the Christ. I saw this movie right when it came out in the theaters, but was thankful for a chance to watch it again.
It is hard to take in what Christ really did....the penalty He paid....the true depth of his sacrifice. I hope that as you go through this week you will take time to stop and think about Jesus, and what He did for YOU (and me too!)
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
